About the Accounting Standard AASB Checker

A scope check and obligation register for AASB 2026-4, built for the financial controllers and audit teams who have to put the amendments into a reporting timetable.

Why it exists

The instrument is short and the date question is not. Most summaries say "applies from 31 December 2027". The instrument commences on that date, but the first annual periods it covers begin on or after 1 January 2028, and a June year end moves the first affected year to the period beginning 1 July 2028. The product exists to make that distinction per entity, and to turn each paragraph into an evidence line.

Who made it

The Art of Service builds compliance and reporting tools that read the official text and state each requirement in its own words. The register was written by Gerard Blokdyk, with the instrument text retrieved on 2026-10-20 and cited on every page. Contact: support@theartofservice.com.

How it is kept current

The record is re-checked against the official text by scripts/refresh, which fails loudly on a change. The visible date, the schema dateModified and the sitemap lastmod all come from the record. A correction that changes a requirement changes the page, the kit and the check in the same pass.

What it does not do

It does not certify compliance, it does not provide legal advice and it does not replace the instrument or your auditor. It does not state the requirements of standards it does not hold: where another market's regime is named, it is named only.

Editorial standard

Every requirement is our own words. Titles, standard names, defined terms and fixed date expressions stay verbatim. The strict seven-word test runs against the held text before a page ships. The test result is recorded in the build log.
